This page contains links to SD card images for various Linux distributions. For each distribution, we provide both a direct HTTP download, a torrent file and a SHA-1 hash; the total number of concurrent direct downloads is limited, so we encourage you to use the torrent file if at all possible.

To use an image file, you will need to unzip it and write it to a suitable SD card using the UNIX tool dd. Windows users may find Chrysocome’s windd port to be a suitable alternative.

New Year's Mission: One of the two twin Grail probes entered orbit on New Year's Eve

Grail is expected to help researchers better understand why the moon is asymmetrical and how it formed by mapping the uneven lunar gravity field. The mission will cost nearly $500million. Previous lunar missions have attempted to study the moon's gravity -which is about one-sixth Earth's pull - with mixed results. Grail is the first mission devoted to this goal.

Nokia Lumia :(

It would apear that @Nokia_uk & @microsoft have a big problem with
their new flagship Lumia handsets.
Problems apear to be centred around the battery or power management.
Customers report their phone will not power up, some have to
disconnect the charger a few times and press the power button
intermitantly.

It has been revealed that Military Wives and Gareth Malone’s Wherever You Are has become record-breaking as the most pre-ordered music item ever on Amazon ahead of its official release by Decca on December 18.

It looks like X Factor winners Little Mix’s chances of hitting the topspot are getting slimmer by the day as phenomenal pre-order figures have been reported for the Military Wives single.

Amazon UK’s music manager, Roger Greensmith, revealed: “Pre-orders for the single have been so strong they have outstripped those achieved by Take That’s 2010 album Progress almost three times over.”

New Xbox kinect software to bring voice commands to Tv services

The Kinect controller will allow users to use gestures to scroll through options. Microsoft says "the new software update will create the biggest interactive TV service in the world"
A free update to the Xbox 360 games console will bring new catch-up TV services and integrated voice control to 35 million users.
The new software will see users able to command their televisions with words such as pause or play, and to ask Xbox to search the web or its own associated services for films, music, TV and other digital content such as games.
